
Mel Davidson

Mel Davidson is one of the most accomplished figures in women’s ice hockey, with a career spanning over three decades in coaching and sports leadership. She led Canada’s National Women’s Hockey Team to Olympic gold medals as head coach in 2006 and 2010, and as general manager in 2014. Her tenure with Team Canada includes a total of 36 international events, all culminating in podium finishes, underscoring her exceptional ability to build and sustain high-performance teams.
Beyond the rink, Mel has contributed to the broader sports community through roles such as high-performance advisor with Own the Podium, where she supports Canadian athletes across various team sports. Her dedication to athlete development and organizational excellence has been recognized with inductions into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame and the IIHF Hall of Fame.
As a member of the Third Factor Sport Advisory Board, Mel brings invaluable insights into coaching, team dynamics, and performance under pressure, enriching our programs with her extensive experience and strategic acumen.
